The Opening Act at Cowboy Jack’s Was a Cleaning Robot
This one gave me some flashbacks.
We brought the CleanBoss C40 into Cowboy Jack’s in Downtown Minneapolis, and if you would’ve told me years ago—while I was spending way too much time at Cowboy Jack’s—that I’d eventually be back there running a cleaning robot through the place…
Yeah, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.
But here we are.
And honestly, this was a really fun one.
We got there before a DJ party inside The Barn, so Cowboy Jack’s was already getting ready for another busy night.
Which made the timing kind of perfect.
Because before the DJ dropped the bass…
The C40 dropped clean floors.
We got the Boss mapped out and started sending it through the space to see how it would handle a real bar environment.
And bars are definitely their own animal.
Tables.
Chairs.
Railings.
Tight areas.
People moving around.
Random obstacles.
And, obviously, floors that have seen a few things.
This wasn’t some giant empty hallway where the robot could just cruise in a straight line forever.
That’s exactly why we wanted to see it.
And the C40 handled it really well.
It moved through the building, worked around the environment, and did what the Boss does:
Sweep. Vacuum. Scrub/mop. Recover the dirty water. One pass.
No hangover required.
One of the things I love about these demos is watching the idea start evolving once the customer actually sees the robot working.
It stops being:
“Can this thing clean a bar?”
And starts becoming:
“Okay… how would we want this thing cleaning OUR bar?”
That’s where some of the more interesting conversations started.
They were already thinking about how they might want the floors handled overnight, how much water they wanted left down, how the cleaning settings could be adjusted, and how to get the floors ready for the next morning.
That’s a real proof of concept.
Not just proving the robot can move around.
Proving we can actually tune it around how the customer wants the building cleaned.
And this wasn’t going to be a quick one-day test.
Steve wanted to keep the CleanBoss for a full week.
We’d like to believe it was because he immediately fell in love with the Boss.
Honestly, we get it.
But in reality, Steve wanted enough real run time and real results to show the higher-ups that this wasn’t just a cool robot putting on a show. He wanted to prove that it could actually earn its place in the operation.
And that week matters.
One good run can get someone’s attention.
Several days of real restaurant conditions, changing layouts, overnight cleaning, adjusted settings, and dirty-water results tell a much stronger story.
The longer the Boss stayed, the more it started proving its value.
Steve is now talking with the higher-ups and looking into whether other Cowboy Jack’s locations could also be a fit.
Nothing is official yet.
But the possibility is getting bigger, and the Boss is starting to make a pretty convincing argument for itself.
Sometimes the best salesperson in the building is the one quietly cleaning the floor.
And the C40 gave us plenty to look at.
By the end, we checked the dirty-water tank.
Let’s just say the Boss brought receipts.
There is something extremely satisfying about looking at a tank full of dirty water and knowing all of that was sitting on the floor a little while earlier.
Pretty hard to argue with that one.
And for me personally, this one was just cool.
I used to go to Cowboy Jack’s quite a bit when I was around that area more.
So being back years later—except now I’m standing there with a robot from a company we’re building—was a pretty awesome full-circle moment.
Definitely gave me a couple flashbacks to the glory days.
Maybe slightly different circumstances this time.
Probably for the best.
But that’s what makes building RevoRoute so much fun.
One week we’re in a school.
Then an apartment complex.
Then a casino.
Then suddenly we’re at Cowboy Jack’s watching the CleanBoss C40 cruise around before a DJ party.
Every building teaches us something different.
Every demo gives us another proof of concept.
And every once in a while, we get one that’s just flat-out fun.
Cowboy Jack’s brings the party.
The Boss handles the floors.
And now it might be getting ready for an encore at a few more locations.
Not a bad opening act.
