The Mats Fought Back. The Boss Adjusted.
Some demos are smooth right out of the gate.
And some make you earn it.
We headed to New Prague High School to meet Dan Wagner, and that was already a cool stop by itself. Dan is one of those guys people know in wrestling circles well beyond just his own building, so it was awesome getting the chance to show him what the CleanBoss C40 could do.
At first, everything looked normal.
The robot started out fine, and then out of nowhere it threw an auction clog issue, which was weird because it was a cleaned robot. So we did what you do in a moment like that — no panic, just keep moving. We had brought two robots, so we fired up the second one.
Same thing.
Now your brain starts turning.
You go from “that’s weird” to “okay… what are we missing here?”
Then it hit me. I started wondering if maybe the squeegee and suction settings were off. Maybe they were too high, maybe too low, maybe something just wasn’t matching the surface the way it needed to. Sure enough, we made a few setting changes and boom — back to normal. Worked like a boss. Exactly how it was supposed to.
That was the big lesson from this one.
Sometimes it’s not some huge issue. Sometimes it’s one setting, one adjustment, one little change that makes the whole thing click. And honestly, that’s why live demos matter so much. You’re not just showing a robot off. You’re learning the environment, learning the floor, and figuring out how to make the machine perform the way it should in the real world.
The superintendent was supposed to be there too, but something came up, so Dan took videos for him instead. And after seeing it work, he wants the superintendent to check out how the C40 handles the hallways too, which could open up an even bigger opportunity.
We ended up leaving the robot there with some scheduled night tasks set up, so now we’ll see when the superintendent wants to come take a look.
That’s what made this one a good demo.
Not because it was perfect right away, but because we learned something important, made the adjustment, and got it dialed in. Real-world demos are like that sometimes. And usually, those are the ones that teach you the most.
We showed up to demo the robot.
We left knowing a little more too.
