The boss rolled in, and the halls got humbled
Going into this one, I really didn’t know much about Sola Salon. In my head, I was expecting a smaller building with haircut chairs all over the place and more of a traditional salon setup.
But this place was different.
This Northeast Minnesota location is around 33,000 square feet, with roughly 10,000 square feet made up of the hallways and community room areas, which made it a really solid setup for the CleanBoss C40. Instead of one big open salon, it was filled with a bunch of smaller rooms occupied by independent business owners doing their own thing. Hair, nails, tattoos — you name it. It was a really cool setup and not what I expected at all.
That’s what made this demo so interesting.
The spaces we were focused on were exactly the kind of areas where the Boss can shine. The CleanBoss C40 was roaming the halls, cleaning and mopping the common areas, and just handling business the whole time. It was actually pretty funny watching people react to it too. Kids were staring, giggling, and watching it cruise around while it just kept doing its thing.
One of the best parts of the day was having Quinn there with us, who is Keenon’s United States tech specialist. Awesome guy, knows his stuff, and I’ve learned a ton from him already. Every time we’re around him, we pick up something new, so having him there made the whole demo even better.
And the Boss definitely did its job.
It turned heads, got people smiling, and at the same time showed exactly how useful this kind of technology can be in a building like that. Hallways and shared spaces might not sound flashy, but those are the kinds of areas that need constant attention — and that’s where the C40 really makes sense.
This was just a really cool demo overall. Great people, a unique building, and another reminder that once people see these robots in person, it starts to click in a different way.
Big thanks again to everyone there, and to Quinn for being part of it.
The Boss rolled in, handled business, and definitely left an impression.
And the best part? We finished the demo around 11:30 AM. One demo was already in the books, and next up was a three-and-a-half-hour drive north to Northern Lights Casino for another big one.
